About Sonia

Sonia Halpern was born and raised in Hamilton Ontario. She completed her undergraduate studies at The University of Western Ontario, and acquired a Master's Degree in Art History from Queen's University. Since 1990, Sonia has been teaching Art History at UWO, and has received numerous teaching awards. She is also the author of a book of poetry entitled The Life and Times of Transition Girl (Southwestern Ontario Poetry 2005). Sonia has been in many Or Shalom Theatre Troupe productions including Monda Halpern's Rumour Has It (Best Actress Nominee, London's One-Act Festival), James Sherman's The God of Isaac and Israel Horovitz's A Rosen By Any Other Name.
